Winter 2007 - Spring 2008
Ministry has been a bit different in 2007 with three new grand babies being born in 2007 and two of them in Ottumwa and Centerville, life at home has taken on a new look and feel. We have our ministry responsibilities and family responsibilities as both Jan and Vikki are helping care for their grand daughters.
Molly and Mark Franke's little girl, Avery, will be 8 months December 1st.
Martha and Brian Felton's little girl, Libby, will be 8 months December 8th.
Chad and Marnda McSpadden's little baby girl, Abby, was born July 26th.
Chad and Maranda moved to the Joplin MO area in July, as Chad changed jobs in his field of engineering.
MINISTRY REPORT:
The Gateways average singing about 100 times each year. After 38 years of living out of a suitcase, trust us, that's enough miles, set-ups and tare-dows, and fast food meals on th road each year. Dave and Don also conduct a number of seminars in addition to GSM singing and preaching appearances. We witnessed numerous people being baptised into Christ as well as others rededicating their lives to Jesus Christ.
CHALLENGES:
As we look towards 2008, travel expenses have risen so much that its becoming a major challenge to our ministry. Filling two SUV'S at the gas pump, it costs over $100. And the coming difficult winter weather presents traveling challenges -- which limits us and keeps us closer to home.
We thank you who support our ministry each month. Your love-gifts truly are the life blood of our ministry. Your gifts make it possible for our two-family team to travel, sing, preach, teach seminars, and be available to serve the Lord. Please consider sending a generous Thanksgiving or year-end love-gift before the end of 2007. Thank you.
We thank each of you who consistantly support our ministry each month. There are four families, all from the state of Illinois, and one church from Wisconsin who generously support us each month. They know who they are and so does God. Without them, our ministry would not be possible. We ask other to partner wih us as we take our "ministry of encouragement" across America.
We know that everyone has had to financially tighten their belts, and we are doing the same. It is increasing challenging for our two-family team to remain on the road. We are one of the few musical two-family teams still on the road who receive their primarily support by ministering among restoration churches across America. We will continue as long as God's people invite us to sing and speak and as our needs are met.
NEW KEYBOARD NEEDED 
A NEW KEYBOARD is needed. Jan McSpadden's keyboard has given us problems of late. Almost all the "B's" and "D's" DON'T WORK. They may work one concert and not the next. Replacement cost is around $1000. Perhaps you would consider helping us replace this important piece of equipment. Thank you.
RECORDING:
Lord willing, when sufficient funds become available, the Gateways will be in the studio recording a new CD. Check this website for info and release date on this new project. We've promised, but still haven't the necessary funds to record and produce a new CD.
